Lagi, Tata Kelola Air Jakarta Diuji Hujan

Musim hujan tiba, artinya was-was melanda warga Jakarta. Dari tahun ke tahun pemerintah DKI belum mampu mengendalikan dan mengelola datangnya air dengan volume yang besar.

IWI berpartisipasi dalam FGD “Pengawasan Air Minum, Suatu Upaya Melindungi Masyarakat” oleh Badan POM

Pada tanggal 16 Juli 2020, Badan POM menyelenggarakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) untuk menyikapi berbagai permasalahan terkait pengawasan air minum, termasuk adanya emerging issues. FGD diadakan secara daring dan luring yang bertempat di JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta, melibatkan Kemeterian/Lembaga terkait. Pembahasan FGD lebih ditekankan kepada perkuatan sistem pengawasan di sepanjang rantai air dalam menjamin mutu dan keamanan produk air untuk masyarakat. Bapak Firdaus Ali sebagai Pimpinan Indonesia Water Institute menjadi salah satu narasumber dengan materi “Tantangan dalam Penyediaan Air dan Pengawasan Mutu Air untuk Keamanan Pangan”. Harapan FGD ini yaitu adanya sinergi antar Lembaga terkait pembagian peran lintas sektor yang bertanggung jawab secara utuh, serta adanya edukasi masyarakat terkait AMDK untuk menghindari kasus2 hoax yang menyesatkan.

IWI attends the 11th AWC Board of Council Meeting

The 11th AWC Board of Council Meeting was held on 8 July 2020 via Zoom Meeting. In this agenda, the Board members had intensive discussions on the availability of hosting the 2nd AIWW in Indonesia, as originally planned (14-18 October 2020), while monitoring the pandemic condition of COVID-19 around the world. AWC Board Members recommended to move the date of 2nd AIWW 2020 to a later date. This was considering the health and safety of potential participants, restriction on travel and border closures, and the contagion of virus. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MPWH) and AWC Secretariat (as the co-hosts) decided to reschedule the date of 2nd AIWW which will be announced in September 2020 (through internal meetings). The main programs of the 2nd AIWW are being prepared, which are Asia Water Issue (24 thematic sessions), Asia to World Statement, and Water Project Business Forum, Special Sessions, and Exhibition. The MPWH and AWC will continue to monitor the pandemic condition and rescheduling other global water events in 2021.

The 10th World Water Forum Information Session

Pada tanggal 15 Juni 2020, Dr. Ir. Firdaus Ali, sebagai Staf Khusus Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) bidang Sumber Daya Air, mendampingi Bapak Menteri PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono dalam virtual meeting dengan World Water Council (WWC) Pannel untuk memaparkan proposal terkait kesediaan Indonesia menjadi tuan rumah World Water Forum (WWF) 2024 di Bali. Dalam hal ini, Indonesia bersaing dengan beberapa negara seperti India, Italia, dan negara di Afrika.

The 15th Meeting of the High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP)

Pada tanggal 29 May 2020, Dr. Ir. Firdaus Ali, sebagai Staf Khusus Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) bidang Sumber Daya Air, mendampingi Bapak Menteri PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono dalam acara the 15th Meeting of the High-Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disaster (HELP) melalui video conference. Diskusi yang berlangsung antara lain terkait 2020 HELP Actions under COVID-19 Pandemic dan HELP Flagship Initiatives under COVID-19.

BoG Meeting World Water Council to Promote 2nd AIWW

The meeting take place on 5-6th February, 2020 at Van der Valk Hotel Selys in Liege, Belgium. This is the 71st of Board of Governors (BoG) Meeting of the World Water Council (WWC). The main purpose of the meeting is to promote 2nd AIWW which will be held on 12-15th October, 2020. As a member of the Board of Governors of WWC, AWC Secretariat attend this meeting to enhance international cooperation within the WWC framework for resolving water-related issues in Asia. MPWH and AWC Secretariat are working together for resolving water-related issues in Asia. The participation of MPHW in is a great opportunity not only to increase global awareness of the 2nd AIWW, but also to promote Denpasar, Indonesia as the hosting location for the 10th World Water Forum.

IWI Supports Preparation and also Attends Stakeholders Consultation Meeting for 2nd AIWW 2020

The Stakeholders Consultation Meeting (SCM) for 2nd AIWW 2020 held on November 11-13th, 2019 at Jakarta. AWC conducted the meeting with stakeholders in water resources in Asia especially Indonesia both from the government sector, private sector, and academics. The activity of SCM consists of several sessions such as Asia Water Issue, Water Project Business Forum and Asia to World Statement. The meeting aims to preparation for implementation of 2nd AIWW that will be held on October 2020 and for Indonesia as the host. This meeting is also for Indonesia’s next agenda as the host of 10th World Water Forum at 2024.

IWI Attends the 10th AWC BoC Meeting

The 10th AWC (Asia Water Council) BoC Meeting was held in Wuhan, China on September 24th, 2019. Our founder and chairman, Mr. Firdaus Ali addressed at the meeting as IWI and also MPWH’s representatives to attend the meeting and joined the discussions specially for the preparation of Stakeholders Consultation Meeting for 2nd AIWW 2020 that held on Jakarta.

“Normalisasi Versus Naturalisasi Aliran Sungai”

Terkadang, sebagian masyarakat masih menganggap sama antara normalisasi dan naturalisasi sungai dalam kerangka penataan wilayah sungai dikaitkan dengan program pengendali banjir perkotaan khususnya di Kota Jakarta. Sesungguhnya, dua konsep ini sangat berbeda walau obyeknya sama yakni aliran sungai. “13 Sungai Jakarta Tidak Akan Cukup Cegah Jakarta Banjir, Ini Solusinya”
